Such a pretty doll. Her hair is silky soft and the headband and wrap around shoes are so unique. Her wings do fall off too easily, but are easily put back on and Mariposa can be played with without them on. I am writing this review 10 months after purchase so here are the drawbacks. Depending on the age of the child playing with the doll the shoes are fragile and the straps break. If the child steps or sits on the wings when they are off, they can be broke in half;or maybe she bent them with her hands. And worst of all, somehow the neck has become limp. Her head will not stay up and it just flops around. Either the joint is a new type that doesn't last or my granddaughter somehow broke it. Also the velcro on the little dress has lost it's ability to stick and I had to get another dress. This doll is done.

So this was a gift from grandma for my son's 2 yr old birthday. After reading the good reviews from Amazon, I suggested this toy to her since my son is really into fire trucks.
Unfortunately, while we were putting the hose in the hole, the black piece in the midsection cracked and broke in half within 3 days. This fire truck is made out of cheap plywood and isn't durable AT ALL. They make it seem like it's a nice wooden toy like it's competitors such as Plan Toys but it's just a cheap mock wooden toy.
My son still likes it and plays with it since he doesn't quite understand that part of the fire truck is now missing, but it really annoys me how cheap this thing was made, since I'm used to nice wooden toys.

I read the previous review and have concerns about the chipping paint as my daughter constantly has everything in her mouth...and with all the "Made in China" concerns going on right now, my concern is growing. These toys are just 'designed' in France.

In addition, I read the description of the toys and it said that you can "hear the baby's heartbeat" with the stethoscope...here's what it does...it runs off of a couple small batteries and goes "bump-bump, bump-bump, bump-bump, laugh, laugh" - it is all automated by pushing a button. I was hoping that it was also like the children's stethoscopes that I had seen where you can actually hear your own real heart beat too. But, no. You can't. Big bummer...oh well, she seems to enjoy it anyways. Wish I was able to find a set that was more toddler friendly (ie no chipping paint or small parts) that had a working stethosope.
