The kids loved this toy. It was one of their favorite Christmas gifts and could not wait to open it. It is a great idea, it just does not slide very well and the components inside are not durable enough to last very long. The sliding feature of the machine jams and so therefore the kids force the slider along...and that is not going to last.
As a mom who has bought plenty of toys for the kids, I should have known better. It is a Barbie toy. And Barbie toys NEVER do what they say or work how the commercial shows it. It is cheap, doesn't work very well and it has only been out of the box for a week. I do not see this toy lasting very long. We also have the computer toy version because my kids could not wait to slide those cards down the little credit card looking slider machine. I am afraid to open the toy because I am afraid it will not work how it is advertised. I am afraid it will be a cheap rip off just like the style sorter.

What a fantastic concept for younger girls who aren't ready for the teeny tiny, hard to dress Polly Pockets. My almost 4 year old daughter received 2 dolls and about 5 of the outfit sets for Christmas and played with them all day. It's rare that a single toy grabs her attention for that long but these did. She loved being able to change the outfits and mix and match all by herself. The chunky feet are a great idea too, as they stand without having to spend a lot of time worrying about balancing them perfectly.

I was skeptical about whether my daughter would like them (I thought she would be too old for them since the recommended age is 2+ and she's already quite mature for her age) but they are still just perfect. I bought this car for my daughter's Plan Toys doll family since she was trying to get them to fit in her Little People van as soon as she received them. I was a little disappointed to find when I received it that the edges of the red paint were a little sloppy. I evened them up and hit some missed spots with a red permanent marker. I was also surprised to find that it came with a Ryan's Room person - I figured he was just for show in the picture. He's about the same size as the Plan dolls.

My main disappointment is that there is no leg room for people in the back seat and it's not the easiest to get them adjusted in the front seat, but my daughter loves the car and fills it up with her Plan people and her new Ryan's Room guy. These sounds are bilingual, but not always entirely so, and they are intended to help children learn Spanish words. When a button is pressed, the refrigerator door is opened, etc., the phrase will be stated in English first. Press it quickly again, and the phrase will be repeated either entirely in Spanish, or with the final word or words in Spanish. All of them feature Dora's voice, so young fans of the show will easily recognize the voice and enjoy the sounds.

This talking doll house has much to offer young fans of the television program, but there are some features/facts about this dollhouse that make it less than perfect. The way the sides fold open, platforms are created that can serve as a floor area while children play. This is nice, but the problem is there is no place to store any added accessories. The dollhouse is constructed in a way that makes it as compact as possible for better storage when folded shut. But this means there is almost no empty space on the interior for storage. And speaking of accessories, there are very few included with this doll house. There are exactly four: Three people figures and one couch. So, if you want more, you have to buy them separately, and this can greatly increase the overall cost of an already expensive toy.

The construction of the Fisher Price Dora the Explorer Talking Doll House is strong and sturdy, but one piece that isn't so durable is the front door. The door isn't permanently attached, and thus it falls off very easily. When I first noticed this, I thought perhaps I got a defective doll house, but from reading other reviews, it looks like this problem is common. This means that the manufacturer made it this way. Why, I have no idea because not only is it annoying to open the door and have it pop off, it also means you have another piece that could potentially get lost.

The Dora the Explorer Talking Doll House is a toy my girls love because is depicts one of their favorite television characters. They love the sounds and anything else that deals with Dora, and they enjoy the time they spend playing with this toy. However, parents will find many components of this toy troubling and will get annoyed by the constant sounds coming from the dollhouse as their excited children press and pull each of the sound- making objects over and over again. For these reasons, I can give the Fisher Price Dora the Explorer Talking Doll House only an average rating overall. If your children love the show, they will love this doll house. But parents will find it lacking in many areas.
